New for 2018/19
Our 20-foot containerised shot blast room represents a huge investment in 2018 and will revolutionise the speed at which we can shot blast and prime steel.
Shot blasting removes burrs, scale or rust that may interfere with the part’s integrity, appearance or definition. For use in almost every industry including aerospace, defence, nuclear, automotive, construction and rail.
With our CO2 laser engraver we can work with a wide range of materials and save you time & money. We can produce text or images direct from your drawings, engrave and cut items in a range of materials; this increases speed whilst ensuring complete accuracy.
We combine the latest technology with traditioinal pantograph techniques. Our machines engrave onto a vast range of standard and non-standard materials, shapes and sizes. Whatever your need, we have the capability to fulfil your requirements - nothing is too complicated.
Working closely with specialist partners, we also offers chemical etching. Overseeing the entire process, we complete all design and finishing in house, while our partners handle the chemistry of etching. This ensures we maintain control over the project - delivering you high standards of service and a quality product.
Our on-site anodising plant was upgraded to the latest standards in 2017. This allows us to treat your aluminium components and panels to MIL-A-8625 (DEF STAN 03-25).
This also allows us to screen-print text/logos mid-process, into the surface coating, significantly increasing durability and providing a quality finish.
A fully RoHS compliant chromate free aluminium conversion coating, to MIL-C-5541 TYPE II CLASS 3. We have one of the largest tanks in the South West, which allows for larger items and time/cost savings.
Chromate conversion pre-treatment to MIL-C-5541 TYPE I (DEF STAN 03-18), using Alocrom 1200 solution.
By combining traditional screen printing with the latest advances in technology including sub-surface anodic printing and epoxy printing, we can achieve a high-quality print finish onto a variety of substrates. Delivering a wide range of products from self-adhesive vinyl labels to Rolls-Royce panels.
Multi Axis Milling & Turning
BIE Magnum offers precision Multi Axis Milling & Turning. We undertake work from one-offs to larger production runs. As with all our services, milling is used in conjunction with anodising, stove enamelling, screen printing and engraving to produce a high-quality front panel, or enclosure, for electronic equipment. Whatever your requirement, with BIE Magnum you can be certain of high standards of accuracy and finish.
Stove Enamelling, Painting and Powder Coating
Powder coating is applied electrostatically as a freeflowing, dry powder and then cured under heat. The main difference between liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder does not require a solvent and provides a tougher, more flexible finish.
Wet paint & Stove Enamelling
With over 40 years’ experience in the finishing industry, we have the expertise you need. We supply stove enamelling and paint applications to a number of MOD and aerospace specifications, as well as to the electronics industry. Our team is highly skilled and experienced in complex masking and paint finishes.
Assembly & Electronics
With our quality assured partners. We can offer a flexible panel and box build service. Whether for a small control panel or a more complex system. We can source, procure and install components that are integral to the build. Including switches, connectors, termination, cable markers and more.
