CNC Machining & Engraving

Machining

3 & 5 axis machining of panels, boxes and billets.

Laser Engraving

Our CO2 and Fibre lasers engrave and cut items in a range of materials. We can produce text or images direct from your drawings, increasing speed and reducing costs whilst ensuring complete accuracy.

Rotary Engraving

We combine the latest technology with traditioinal pantograph techniques. Our machines engrave onto a vast range of standard and non-standard materials, shapes and sizes. Whatever your need, we have the capability to fulfil your requirements - nothing is too complicated.

Infilling

We can engrave and infill or just infill your supplied engraved parts with any colour to suit your requirements. We have a wealth of experience to ensure a quality finish.

CMM Geometry Measuring

Fast, accurate and reliable, fully motorised moving bridge CMM. A coordinate measuring machine (CMM) measures the geometry using a contact probe. Ensuring the accuracy of our machined parts. The all-aluminium bridge structure ensures low inertia and high acceleration, delivering speed and accuracy in the working environment, as the temperature of the machine rapidly follows the temperature of the room.

Fitted with a Renishaw RTP20 auto-indexing probe head, giving indexing positions from 0–90o in the A axis and +/-180o in the B axis in 15o increments.

The software draws features as they are measured and allows dimensions to be added exactly as they appear on component drawings. The CAD Comparison module allows IGES or STEP format files to be imported. Any points taken will show the error of the measured point relative to the CAD model. Reports can be produced in either graphical and/or tabulated formats.

Aluminium Passivation Treatments

Clear and Black Sulphuric Anodising are a RoHS and environmentally compliant coating that provides the hardest wearing, scratch-resistant finish of all. It is therefore ideal as a final finished treatment and suitable for anodic printing, which gives a subsurface scratch resistant print. This process also gives a good base for paint adhesion, especially when there is no final sealing process. It is not electrically conductive but can be masked or machined to create contact points.

SurTec 650 and Iridite NCP are corrosion inhibiting conversion coatings that provide an ideal surface for paints and powder coating, ensuring a clean surface with excellent adhesion properties. Also suitable as a final finish without painting, even after heating or baking. Both are electrically conductive. Both have been developed to provide a RoHS and environmentally compliant clear coating alternative to the Non-RoHS compliant golden finish of Alocrom, whilst meeting the same performance requirements.

Precision Masking

Aerospace, defence, electronics and customised precision masking are areas for which we have long been renowned, with staff exceeding an average of 25 years’ experience in this department alone. We take immense pride in a beautiful job and the key to a successful finish is in the fine lines, sharp edges and meticulous detail.

Coatings - Powder & Paint Systems

Powder Coating

Powder coating is applied electrostatically as a freeflowing, dry powder and then cured under heat. The main difference between liquid paint and a powder coating is that the powder does not require a solvent and provides a tougher, more flexible finish.

Paint Systems

With over 40 years’ experience in the finishing industry, we have the expertise you need. Our team is highly skilled and experienced in complex masking and paint finishes including:
Stove Enamelling -
Anti Corrosion -
Dry Film Lubricants -
Subsea | Marine -
Rubber -
Acrylic -
Aerospace -

Shot Blasting – Glass Beads & Aluminium Oxide

Shot blasting involves using high-velocity particles to clean, prepare, or modify surfaces. While various materials can be used as blasting media, glass beads and aluminium oxide are common choices due to their properties. Aluminium oxide is a harder, more abrasive material, suitable for tougher jobs like removing coatings from metals, while glass beads are gentler and create smoother finishes, often used for cleaning or etching

Paint Stripping, Benzyl alcohol with an alkalinity booster

An extremely effective stripping solution aids corrosion protection without damaging the integrity of the base metal.

The alkalinity booster promotes corrosion protection for mild steel and the silicates protect aluminium components.

Ideal for polyurethane based paints, acrylic, lacquers, epoxy based paints and electro-coated paints.
