For us, only the best is good enough – working in partnership internally and externally as one team to deliver exceptional service and finishing quality through everything we do together. These are the values that shape how we work, how we treat our customers, and how we think about the future of our business and our people.
Where we are going and how we will get there
Our vision and mission sit at the heart of everything BIE Magnum does — from the decisions we make about investment and growth, to the standard we hold ourselves to on every finishing job we take on.
Vision
To be the UK’s most trusted specialist finishing and manufacturing partner – renowned for precision, reliability and the quality of our people.
Mission
To deliver quality engineering finishing solutions for critical parts, boxes, panels and labels across Aerospace, Defence, Rail, Nuclear and beyond – combining over 50 years of in-house expertise with a genuine commitment to getting it right, on time and in full, every time.
BIE Magnum Values
Precision
Our customers trust us to provide the highest-quality products, with exceptional accuracy.
In the industries we serve – Aerospace, Defence, Rail, Nuclear and beyond – precision is not optional. A component that does not meet its specification exactly is not acceptable, and our customers know that when they send work to BIE Magnum, it will come back right.
Precision runs through everything we do: from the fine lines and sharp edges of a masked panel, to the dimensional accuracy verified by our CMM, to the consistency of a paint finish applied to a DEF STAN specification. It is the standard our customers have come to expect, and the standard we hold ourselves to on every job.
Collaboration
We believe in the power of our people and teams working together with our customers to deliver the best solutions.
The best finishing results come from a genuine partnership between BIE Magnum and our customers. That means understanding your requirements fully before a job begins, working through any technical challenges together, and being willing to go beyond the brief when it makes the end result better.
Internally, collaboration means our team – from estimating and production to masking and quality inspection – working as one, with shared responsibility for the outcome of every job. We do not pass problems from one department to another. We solve them together.
Integrity
We do what we say we will do, building trust through reliable and honest partnerships.
Integrity means being honest about what we can deliver, and then delivering it. It means telling a customer when a specification needs discussion, not pressing ahead and hoping for the best. It means quoting a realistic lead time and then meeting it.
Over more than 50 years, integrity has been the foundation of BIE Magnum’s customer relationships. Many of our partnerships have lasted for years, and in some cases decades – not because we are the only finishing and manufacturing company in Bristol, but because our customers know they can rely on us to be straight with them.
Innovation
We drive progress by embracing new technologies and continuously improving at every opportunity.
BIE Magnum has been refining its finishing techniques since 1973 – and the world has changed enormously in that time. The introduction of CO2 and Fibre laser systems, 5 axis CNC machining, CMM geometry measuring and sub-surface anodic printing are all examples of how we have embraced new technology to give our customers better results.
Innovation at BIE Magnum is not about change for its own sake. It is about asking whether there is a better way to do something, and being willing to invest in the answer. As part of the Corvero Group, we have the resources to back that approach – investing in our facility and our capabilities to stay at the forefront of the finishing and manufacturing industry.
Development
We care for our people, investing in them as individuals and as teams to sustain the next generation of engineering talent.
The specialist skills that make BIE Magnum what it is – precision masking, complex paint finishing, CNC engraving, anodising – take years to develop. Our team includes people who have spent their entire careers here, accumulating knowledge that cannot be found in a manual. That expertise is one of our most valuable assets, and we invest in developing and passing it on.
We are committed to training, mentoring and supporting our people – not just to fill current roles, but to build the engineering talent that the manufacturing industry will need in the future. The average experience in our masking department alone exceeds 13 years. That does not happen by accident.
Excellence
We are committed to the pursuit of excellence for the ultimate benefit of our customers and employees.
Excellence is not a destination – it is a direction. It means that, however well we did yesterday, we are looking for ways to do better today. It means that we do not accept a job that is merely good enough when it could be exceptional. And it means that we hold the same standard for ourselves as we hold for the work we produce.
For our customers, excellence means consistently outstanding finishing quality, reliable delivery, and a partner who genuinely cares about the outcome of every job. For our employees, it means working in an environment where high standards are expected and recognised, and where the pursuit of better is encouraged at every level.
