Precision Masking

Aerospace, defence, electronics and customised precision masking are areas for which we have long been renowned, with staff exceeding an average of 13 years’ experience in this department. We take immense pride in a beautiful job and the key to a successful finish is in the fine lines, sharp edges and meticulous detail.

Shot Blasting

Shot blasting uses high-velocity particles to clean, prepare or modify surfaces prior to further finishing. We work with a range of blast media depending on the material and finish required — aluminium oxide for tougher jobs such as removing coatings from metals, glass beads for smoother finishes and cleaning or etching, and garnet and steel grit meeting SA 2½ grade as per ISO 8501-1:2007.

Powder, Paint and Stripping

With over 50 years’ experience, our team delivers complex paint finishes across a wide range of systems — stove enamelling, anti-corrosion, dry film lubricants, subsea/marine, rubber, acrylic, aerospace and defence — processed to a comprehensive range of UK DEF STAN and US MIL specifications. Powder coating is applied electrostatically as a free-flowing dry powder and cured under heat, providing a tougher, more flexible finish than liquid paint without the need for a solvent.

3 & 5 CNC Machining and Laser Engraving

Our CNC machining capability covers 3 and 5 axis machining and engraving of panels, boxes and billets across a wide range of materials, from one-off development components to high-volume production batches. Our CO2 and Fibre lasers engrave and cut items in a range of materials – producing text or images directly from your drawings, increasing speed, reducing costs and ensuring complete accuracy.

CMM Geometry Measuring

Our coordinate measuring machine (CMM) uses a contact probe to measure component geometry, ensuring the dimensional accuracy of every machined part before finishing begins. Fitted with a Renishaw RTP20 auto-indexing probe head — 0–90° in the A axis and ±180° in the B axis in 15° increments. Reports are produced in graphical and/or tabulated formats to suit your quality documentation requirements.

Infilling

We can engrave and infill, or just infill your supplied engraved parts, with any colour to suit your requirements. We have a wealth of experience across a wide range of substrates and infill materials to ensure a quality finish every time.

Silk and Anodic Screen Printing

By combining traditional screen printing with sub-surface anodic and epoxy printing, we achieve a high-quality finish onto a variety of substrates – delivering everything from self-adhesive vinyl labels to complex, multi-colour Rolls-Royce panels

Iridite NCP

Iridite NCP provides excellent corrosion resistance and paint adhesion, and is electrically conductive — making it particularly suitable where conductivity must be maintained alongside surface protection. Can be used as a standalone finish or as a pre-treatment prior to painting or powder coating.

SurTec 650

SurTec 650 is a RoHS-compliant, trivalent chromium passivation treatment for aluminium components. It delivers excellent corrosion resistance and paint adhesion with a lighter, more consistent coating weight than traditional conversion coatings. Suitable as a standalone finish or as a pre-treatment prior to painting or powder coating, and approved for use in modern aerospace and defence supply chains.

Clear and Black Anodising

Clear and black sulphuric anodising uses electricity to build a dense aluminium oxide layer directly into the surface – providing the most abrasion-resistant unpainted finish available, as well as excellent corrosion protection. Suitable as a standalone finish in clear or black, or as a pre-treatment before paint or powder coating. High contact resistance, but can be masked or machined to create contact points where required.
